How to Live Your Dream Life

What would you be doing if you didn’t have to go to work or worry about money? As adults, it seems that we’ve forgotten how to dream…we just accept the reality that we’ve created for ourselves.

Why is it that we settle for less than what we truly desire? Desire…a powerful word, and combined with passion…you can achieve great things…but you have to believe you can…

The past few years have been challenging for many people from all walks of life; the economy is in the tank and lots of people are struggling to make ends meet.

One question might be…how do I retire with enough money so I don’t outlive my money?

Another question might be…how the heck do I get out of the rat race?

What are the biggest problems facing most people today?

  • lack of freedom
  • lack of money
  • lack of security
  • lack of time
  • your excuse
  • all of the above

The Solution…passive residual income…which is defined as something that makes you money without you having to put in the time.

Are you afraid of failure…or success, or is it just the change that you fear most?

So, how do I get to this place where I don’t have to go to work and can live my dream life?

If I started today what could I do for the next 10 years that will make me a boatload of cash, so I never have to look for another J-O-B?

I’ll use Robert Kiyosaki’s (Rich Dad, Poor Dad) examples (the four money quadrants)…because he knows a thing or two about how money works and how to have it work you, rather than you working for it…

Your four choices (quadrants) are this:

  • Employee – working for someone else
  • Self employed – own your own job and you are your own boss
  • Business owner – system of making money, rather than a job to make money (this is where you want to be)
  • Investor – spending (risking) money to receive a larger payout (there’s no guarantee investments always go up)

Job

  • Trading time for money, not very efficient
  • Your net worth is not going to increase, unless you have a high paying job, save 20% of your income & invest it for roughly 40 years; you might have enough to retire comfortably, but you’re too old to do all the fun stuff
  • The crazy thing about this is…most people drive 30 minutes or more, fighting traffic, to go to a job they don’t like, to work with people they don’t like, making someone else rich…and the weird part is…they’re afraid of losing that…I don’t get it…heck, I’d be glad to get fired

Self Employed

  • Trading time for money, not very efficient
  • Basically, you just bought yourself a job, with flexible hours
  • If you don’t go to work you don’t get paid…period
  • Not much better than a JOB
  • No paid vacation, no sick time, etc

Small Business or Franchise

  • Large start-up costs.
  • What does it take to start a Jack in the Box or McDonalds?
    • Huge loan
    • Employees
    • Liabilities
    • Insurance
    • Store front
    • Too many headaches…

Investor

  • Lots of money to start with, to be able to live off your investments (assuming they go up in value)
  • A million dollars at 5% is only 50K / year, before taxes…you can barely survive on that
  • Or you could live off the million & hope you die before you run out of money

Back to School

  • You could become a doctor, dentist, lawyer, professional, etc
  • It’s going to take you roughly 8 years to get there and over $200,000, that only leaves me 2 years to retire…remember we’re on a 10 yr plan
  • Heck, it would take another 10 years just to pay off the loans and business start-up costs

Network Marketing…is it a Scam? or the Perfect Business Model?

  • Multiple streams of income
  • Low start-up cost, low risk
  • Start-up costs range from $FREE – $5000+, but most are $500 or less
  • Unlimited income potential, no special skill set, no age limits
  • No employees, no boss, no inventory, no store front, flexible hours
  • Anyone can do this
  • You can even do this while you have a full time job
  • Must be able to communicate with people
  • This business model has been endorsed by people such as Donald Trump & Robert Kiyosaki…do you think these guys know something?
  • A lot of companies have also figured out that this is an extremely efficient business model; they can save a ton of money by having you advertise for them
  • 5 hours per week for the next 5-10 years would create a huge residual income stream; you could make more money than your job would ever pay you
  • Network Marketing is a marathon, not a sprint
  • Most people network themselves every day, whether they realize it or not, why not get paid for it

Networking Marketing defined: you buying a product or service, and then referring others to that company to buy stuff for themselves, it’s about showing, not selling…

A few statistics that I came across while doing research:

  • 36% have given up and don’t believe they can have a better life
  • 10% are just lazy
  • 17% look at an opportunity just to prove it wrong
  • 3% have tried this and failed, they know these things don’t work
  • 4% are making a ¼ million per year and think they are doing OK
  • 30% have no clue

One of my core beliefs is…that by helping others get what they want you’ll get what you want. That’s what network marketing is all about; you get paid by helping others succeed (just the opposite of the corporate world). It’s win-win, because by helping your downline succeed, you become even more successful.

How good would it feel to know your financial future is secure and that a perpetual residual income stream will flow to you and your family?

I’ll leave you with a few thoughts…

Stop the self-limiting beliefs… and get out of your own way…

Make an effort, not an excuse…

Failure is never as frightening as regret…

I use this in my prospecting efforts when someone confronts me about network marketing being a real business and that nobody makes money. I briefly remind people about the four money quadrants and the choices they have. I don’t try to sell them on the benefits of network marketing, I just use this example. Hopefully this will help you when prospecting & speaking to people as much as it has helped me.
